My dad loved the woods and Nature and he was a Navy man and a carpenter so I grew up on a lake and played in the woods and build all kinds of things like rafts and tree houses. Since I was a child I was interested in Nature and Science and studied everything I could find about physics, chemistry electronics and astronomy, and about the sea, woods, waters and mountains. I love hiking on the Appalachian Trail or into remote places where I would have a lake with a big beach all to myself, or a mountain peak from which I could see across the state.
At the same time I love people, meeting new people, interesting people on Yahoo IM working with people in stress and crisis, teaching children to read and to know and appreciate Nature and Science. I am curious about everything and consider myself a passionate life long learner. Most people say I’ve got a good sense of humor.
I love to cook (that’s the chemist in me), especially on a wood fire (Mr. Natural), I’ve served eggs benedict for breakfast atop Bigelow Mtn. more than once. I’ve taught Headstart, Remedial Reading and was a classroom teacher in the primary grades for 10 years. I loved to sit on the back porch in August and plan and prepare for the best classroom program ever for that year. I love designing and building things with wood, rocks, water and even fire, bonfires built in the Fall and protected from rain and snow to be ignited amidst a raging blizzard or at a Winter Solstice celebration
